I started in the beauty business back in 1984 as a hairdresser working in a high end salon where we did a lot of magazine work and covers for Vogue and Elle Magazine. After a few years as a stylist, I decided to go into the educational end of hairdressing where I was a director of a beauty school in Long Island.
In the 90's I went back to school for electrolysis and started in the world of hair removal. I was fortunate back then to meet a dermatologist on the board at NYU who took me in and taught me laser technology when it first came out in 1997. From there I started to build my expertise in all aspects of lasers from hair removal to skin rejuvenation.
I’ve built my brand on the philosophy that everyone is beautiful and that clients should be able to get beautiful in a friendly and comfortable intimidation-free atmosphere. I won numerous awards from “Top 5 Spa in New York city” to “Best Brazilian bikini wax.” I’ve also received New York Magazine’s Critics Pick, and was featured in Jane Magazine. Since then, my work & passion started to grow to what has become Salon Champu.
